Countdown To #ImoDecides2019, By Harry Awurumibe

With less than one week to March 9, the day Ndi Imo will troop out to elect a New Brand Governor who will succeed the outgoing “Rescue Mission” of Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the Imo electorates need not to be told that they MUST not make the same mistakes they have made in 2011 and 2015 when they  were deceived to Vote for the “sweet-talking” Okorocha.

Ndi Imo should also remember that Okorocha did not operate alone in the “conquering” of Imo State and its people in the last eight years as he was assisted by some of the frontline Gubernatorial Aspirants jostling now to take over from the Orlu- born politician. There intentions are among other things to continue in the same policies and programmes of the “Rescue Mission Government”.
But, Imolites now have a Golden Opportunity to re-write the history of the beleaguered state on Saturday,  March 9, 2019. The Big Choice to make by electorates of all ages especially the teeming Youths- large army of unemployed people, civil servants and  pensioners who are owed several months and years of salaries and gratuity as well as artisans, traders, road transport owners and workers.

Indeed, Small and Medium Business Operators, manufacturers and contractors whose businesses have crumbled in the last eight years are to also make a choice of the candidate who will revitalize Imo State economy so that they will be back in business.
Above all, the Royal Fathers, Traditional Rulers and Religious Leaders who have been traumatized for a long time with some of them being dethroned or their kingdom being balkanized to suit the ruling government must step up now by mobilizing their subjects and followers to cast their votes for One Candidate who has been Tested and Trusted. A candidate who knows good governance.
The candidate who is known to have gone out of his way to Swear an Affidavit and has subsequently deposited it with the Court of Justice of the country to show his seriousness and sincerity to offer Ndi Imo quality service is His Excellency, Dr. Ikedi  Godson Ohakim. He is running with a pius Catholic woman cum astute administrator, Lady Ann Dozie under the platform of Accord Party. The No. 1 party on the Ballot Paper.
Finally, every patriotic Imolite should as a matter of respect and in good conscience endorse the candidature of the former Governor (Ohakim) as the most qualified aspirant to be voted into office on March 9 to return Imo State to part of glory.
Ndi Imo must heed to the wise advice of the Imo State Elders Advisory Council led Prof. (Chief) Raph Obioha who in their wisdom and after interactive sessions and perusing the Action Plan documents submitted by the Imo guber candidates endorsed Gov. Ohakim of Accord Party and called on all Imolites to Vote for him massively on March 9 in the spirit of Imo Charter of Equity.       This Charter removes marginalization of any zone, brings equity,  political peace, love, unity and progress. It also reduces thuggery, tension, violence,  bitterness and political bickering. It enables the minority like Ohakim’s Okigwe Zone to share equally with Orlu and Owerri Zones.       Gov. Ohakim is the people’s choice, let Ndi Imo Vote for him. Ka Chineke Mezie Okwu.
