Borussia Dortmund midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka is now officially eligible to represent Austria, Prompt News reports.
The Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, on Monday officially approved Chukwuemeka’s switch to Austria from England.
The 22-year-old was in born in Vienna, Austria to Nigerian parents.
Having represented England at the youth level, he has now opted to play for his country of birth.
The former Chelsea star can now play at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Austria.
Austria have been drawn in Group J alongside Jordan, Algeria and reigning champions Argentina this summer.
Ralf Rangnick’s team are in friendly action this month against Ghana and South Korea.
