Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi has stated that anybody can beat Chelsea at the moment. The midfielder delivered his damning verdict after his side’s shock 2-1 Champions League defeat at home to Basel on Wednesday. Mikel said there could be more losses in store for the 2012 Champions League winners if they repeat their awful showing against Basel. “But if we play the way we did on Wednesday, we have a chance of losing to anyone we play”. It was Chelsea’s first ever defeat in a Champion’s League group opener and it came against a side they beat last season in the Europa League semi- finals. Mikel, 26, admitted:” it was disappointing. Really, really bad, a very bad result for us. “We knew the kind of team we were playing against. “We knew how good they are on the ball and what they can do when they have the ball. “The manager spoke about how we had to put them under pressure from the first half, the first minute and they don’t have chance to win here but we didn’t do that. It’s disappointing to our fans, the way that we lost the game” |
