Fresh violence has rocked Zamfara State as suspected bandits launched a deadly assault on Rumbuki village in Bukkuyum Local Government Area, killing at least nine residents and injuring eight others.
The attack, which occurred on Tuesday evening, reportedly saw heavily armed assailants storm the community and open fire indiscriminately, leaving multiple casualties and throwing residents into panic.
Details of the incident were shared by security analyst, Bakatsine, on social media, noting that several villagers remain unaccounted for in the aftermath of the raid.
The violence was also said to have spread to nearby Nikai village, where the attackers allegedly set houses ablaze, worsening the scale of destruction.
Among those killed were reportedly three children of a prominent figure in the area, further deepening the tragedy.
