Afrobeats sensation Asake has reportedly parted ways with YBNL and the label boss, Olamide.
Speculation about the split intensified after Asake unfollowed Olamide on Instagram, removed all mentions of YBNL from his bio, and wiped his account clean of posts.
Gossip blogger Cutie Juls revealed that Asake’s contract with YBNL recently expired, prompting Olamide to present a renewal deal.
However, the singer reportedly declined to sign the new agreement despite Olamide’s persistent efforts to negotiate.
According to the blogger, Asake decided to leave the label and pursue an independent career, marking a significant turning point in his musical journey.
The news has sparked a mix of reactions online, with fans expressing surprise and curiosity about what’s next for the talented artist.
The post reads, “Asake leaves YBNL and dumps OLAMIDE. Insiders says Asake’s contract with Olamide’s YBNL expired and when OLAMIDE presented Asake with a new contract, Asake refused to sign.
“OLAMIDE apparently tried everything in his books to renew his record label with Asake but Asake refused.
“The final straw happened two [2] weeks ago when Asake walked out completely out of the deal opting to be his own boss.
“Hopefully they will be able to resolve and get Asake to stay.
“As it is now, OLAMIDE is looking for new artists“? Hmmm.”
It’s worth noting that Asake joined YBNL in 2022 and burst into the spotlight with his hit song ‘Sungba’, achieving groundbreaking milestones, including the impressive feat of selling out the O2 Arena twice.
