Frustrated faces greeted the malfunctioning of the new technology, Biomodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) at many Polling Units in some wards in the on-going Anambra state Governorship Election.
Of important is the malfunctioning of the device at the Polling Unit of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as many voters in the area have not been captured hours into the start of voting from 8:30am.
Prompt News reports that many eligible voters in Soludo’s Polling Unit have not voted as at 10:07 am because the biometric machine was not working.
Also, some voters were visibly angered by the delay in the machines to capture their details to enable them to vote with some very agitated that they have not been able to cast their votes for several hours of being in the queue.
Meanwhile, Prompt News gathered that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been contacted by the Commission’s officials on the ground and solutions will be found and voters cast their ballots before the end of the election today.
