Team Anambra has increased its medal haul at the ongoing National Sports Festival (NSF) with one gold and two silver in shotput and javelin in para games events.
The medals were won on Sunday at the Stephen Keshi township stadium, Asaba.
Njideka Iyiazi, won gold in F-57 category of shotput with 9.98 metres and a silver in sitting javelin with a throw of 21.37 metres.
Esther Ezerioha won the second silver of the day on Sunday in the F-44 category with a distance of 21.44 metres in standing javelin.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, Iyiazi said she was targeting gold in the javelin and blamed her performance on poor form.
She said if there was adequate training equipment and enough time for training, she was sure of winning every available gold in the events she competed in.
Recall that Ajuluchukwu Ogbagbue won the first gold for Anambra in Scrabble single intermediate category. (NAN)
