Nigerian afro-house singer Niniola has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika, in a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram story in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Grammy-nominated artiste broke the news while grieving the loss of her partner, who served as Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro-house and contemporary African music.
In one of her posts, she wrote, “God took him.”
She followed with another message saying, “My husband died,” before adding, “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years.”
The posts were each accompanied by photos of the singer and her late husband, highlighting the emotional weight of her announcement.
At the time of filing this report, details surrounding the circumstances of his death had not been made public. Niniola is known for keeping her personal life largely private.

The 39-year-old singer rose to prominence after emerging as a top contestant on Project Fame West Africa in 2013 and has since become one of Nigeria’s leading music exports.
