Akor Adams is expected to lead the Super Eagles’ attack when Nigeria face Madagascar in Friday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture in Uyo, Prompt News Online reports.
Adams is reportedly the preferred option to start in attack following the absence of Victor Osimhen, who is sidelined with injury.
A reliable source within the Super Eagles camp revealed that the Venezia forward is ahead of George Ilenikhena, Tolu Arokodare, Taiwo Awoniyi and Moses Usor in the pecking order for the Group L encounter.
Adams has grown into an important figure for the national team since making his debut against Lesotho last October.
The 26-year-old has recorded six goals in 15 appearances for the three-time African champions.
Nigeria will welcome the Barea of Madagascar to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm local time.
