A Muslim Must Avoid Illegal Possession of Land, By Mallam Musa Daud

In the Name of Allah, the entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Dispute Over Land is common around the world. Siblings have fought over land while friends have become enemies when acquisition of land is involved. The Land speculators are not helping matters.
Islam support trading but forbids Usry. Islam support doing of legal business, but forbids gambling and lottery. When you check the list of what are considered haram (forbidden), they are sources of cheap wealth and cheap wealth has no spiritual blessing (Albarka).
Piety is The Goal:
“O people! Worship your Lord who created you and those before you, that you may attain piety”.
What Has Allah Done To Deserve Your Devotion:
Suratul Bakarah:-
22: “He who made the earth a habitat for you, and the sky a structure, and sends water down from the sky, and brings out fruits thereby, as a sustenance for you. Therefore, do not assign rivals to God while you know”.
The Challenge of All Time:
23: “And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like these, and call your witnesses apart from God, if you are truthful”.
24: “But if you do not-and you will not-then beware the Fire whose fuel is people and stones, prepared for the disbelievers”.
The true way to demonstrate Faith in Allah s.w.t (God) is to Love the Prophet of Allah and obey them. Obeying them means you do what you are commanded and you move away from what you are forbidden.
There will always be dissenters:
And when it is said to them, “Believe as the people have believed,” they say, “Shall we believe as the fools have believed?” In fact, it is they who are the fools, but they do not know”. 2:13
Don’t be deceived:
“O Mankind, fear your Lord and fear a day when no Father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed the promise of Allah s.w.t is true. So let not the worldly life delude you, and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver (Devil)”. 31:33
Think of Your End:
“Verily, it is We, who give life and death. And to Us is the Final goal” 50:40
The Land Disputation & Resolution:
Volume 4, Book 54, Number 420: Narrated Said bin Zaid bin Amr bin Nufail:
That Arwa sued him before Marwan for a right, which she claimed, he had deprived her of. On that Said said, ‘How should I deprive her of her right? I testify that I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, ‘If anyone takes a span of land unjustly, his neck will be encircled with it down seven earths on the Day of Resurrection.’
A Brief Analysis:
Arwa is a Woman: a woman has a right to own landed property in Islam
She sued a man: a woman can legally ask for her right
The one sued also has a right of defense, not legal rigmarole.
Issues are resolved on the basis of Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet.

Volume 4, Book 54, Number 433: Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, ‘On every Friday the angels take their stand at every gate of the mosques to write the names of the people chronologically (i.e. according to the time of their arrival for the Friday prayer and when the Imam sits (on the pulpit) they fold up their scrolls and get ready to listen to the sermon.’
