To further improve efficiency and meet up with the demands for the production of Certificates of Occupancy for conveyance to eligible allotees, the Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) has commenced the automation of workflow of the entire processes.
The Director of AGIS, Dr. Isa Ibrahim Jalo made this disclosure in his office while receiving some students that visited AGIS for a study tour on Thursday.
He revealed that the project is leveraging on the existing ICT infrastructure of AGIS, especially the computerised Land administration Tools user for this purpose.
“Other existing infrastructure include the AGIS Land Information System (LIS), the AGIS local Intranet and new technologies available to provide effective speed, monitoring as well as a system of live information and feedback at the click of the button”, the Director added.
According to him, the application, that is now fully deployed will automatically generate list of allotees’ file that are ready for C-of- O after the 100% payment of premium fees, it then instantly sends the list to audit unit for confirmation of payments.
Dr. Jalo stated that after audit confirmation, the confirmed lists are sent for production, vetting or Customer service according to the updated status of the file as contained in the application.
The Director stressed that the cycle continues automatically up to the stage of C-of-O Execution and Storage when the customer is notified to come for conveyance or collection.
The Director remarked that the system is designed and Implemented as an application system that would import from the LIS Secured list of titles ready for C-of-O production.
Dr. Jalo remarked that the system is built to reduce access to LIS by other stakeholder’s units/departments thereby securing the system from outside users; as the application is to automate the C-of-O production workflow through the intranet within the AGIS network.
The Director noted that this stride has been achieved by the in-house staff of AGIS with the encouragement of the current FCT Administration under the leadership of Malam Muhammad Musa Bello and the Change Agenda of the Federal Government.
Dr. Jalo assured that AGIS is now well positioned to deliver services to millions of its customers in line with new Executive Order of the Government.
“This new system has been developed to enhance transparency, increase the speed and efficiency in the production of Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O),” Mr. Sule O. Haruna, Head, Information & Customer Service quoted him as saying.
