Kano Pillars boss, Abba Yola has charged the League Management Company (LMC) to be consistent in punishing offending clubs and officials.
Yola, while reacting to the LMC’s decision to fine Pillars N5 million, close the Sani Abacha stadium for the rest of the season and banishing them to Kaduna, said the LMC was not fair to his team, expressing hope that the NFF Organizing and Disciplinary Committee (O&D) will do justice to them.
He wondered why Enyimba FC that refused to finish the game after the crowd was cleared from the pitch and the referee called for the restart, was left unpunished and Pillars treated as if they have committed an abominable thing other than celebrating a goal.
The NSC retiree cited instances where clubs like Rangers, Wikki, 3SC and Kwara united have done worst things and were only punished by playing behind closed stadia, noting that Pillars are being treated differently because they don’t have anybody at the top to fight for them.
Asked if it was a case of double standard by the LMC, Yola said “we don’t call it double standard, we call it double face. You look at Abba Yola and punish him for an offense he did not commit and you look at another and decide to give him a lighter punishment. I am of the view that punishment should be commensurate with an offence. It should not be overbearing”
He said Pillars were ready to reply the match against Enyimba if the NFF disciplinary committee decides so, noting that Pillars are law abiding club seeking for justice.
