Turkish giants Fenerbahçe are reportedly weighing up a January move for Bursaspor forward Kelechi Iheanacho following his sensational start to the season.
The Nigeria international has been in outstanding form since joining Bursaspor on a free transfer during the summer, establishing himself as one of the standout performers in the Turkish league.
The 30-year-old has registered an impressive 16 goals and three assists in just 12 league appearances for the Green Crocodiles, attracting interest from several quarters.
According to Turkish outlet HT Spor, Fenerbahçe are now considering a move for the prolific striker as they look to reinforce their attacking department ahead of the second half of the campaign.
The Yellow Canaries are eager to strengthen their squad as they seek to challenge city rivals Galatasaray for the Süper Lig title. However, their current league position leaves plenty of room for improvement, with the club sitting fifth on 16 points after nine matches.
Fenerbahçe have also experienced changes in the dugout, with İsmail Kartal leaving his position following the club’s derby defeat to Galatasaray.
Former Liverpool winger Dirk Kuyt has since taken over on an interim basis, with the Dutchman tasked with getting the team back on track.
Iheanacho’s remarkable goalscoring exploits have undoubtedly made him an appealing prospect for Fenerbahçe, who could look to make their interest concrete when the January transfer window opens.
