Super Falcons forward Joy Omewa has sealed a move to Swedish champions BK Häcken, Prompt News Online reports.
The 23-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Damallsvenskan side after joining on a free transfer following the expiration of her deal with English Women’s Super League 2 club Nottingham Forest.
Omewa becomes the second Nigerian at BK Häcken, where she will team up with experienced midfielder Halimatu Ayinde, an established member of the club.
The pacy forward arrives in Sweden after an outstanding spell with Danish side Fortuna Hjørring.
She enjoyed a prolific 2024/25 campaign, scoring 22 league goals in 24 appearances to help the club secure a domestic league and cup double.
“I mainly developed my ability to score goals, especially positional play in the penalty area. I worked a lot on mastering how to be as efficient as possible inside the box,” she told the club’s official website.
” I know that BK Häcken is a fantastic club that helps its talents develop. I feel that this is the right place for me,” added the former Confluence Queens player.”
