Fresh claims have emerged following the death of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo after a man identified as Clinton Ekubo, who described himself as a relative of the actor, publicly shared concerns about events leading up to his passing and funeral.
In a lengthy Facebook post, Clinton accused the actor’s stepmother of taking control of important decisions regarding Alex’s personal life and burial while allegedly excluding members of the extended family.
According to him, the family was unaware of certain developments in the actor’s private life, including claims that his stepmother facilitated a marriage arrangement without informing relatives.
He further alleged that Alex gradually distanced himself from members of his paternal family and became more connected to his stepmother’s side of the family.
“Honestly speaking, my brother David Ekubo and my sister Ify Ekubo were right in their write-up,” he wrote.
Clinton also claimed that the family was unaware the actor had been seriously ill until news of his death became public.
“Alex Ekubo was sick; nobody knew till his death. He died, and the family didn’t know that our son was sick and dead till it was announced to the public by his stepmother.”
He questioned the speed of the burial preparations and alleged that immediate family members had limited involvement in the process.
According to him, he personally viewed the actor’s body and raised concerns over physical observations he said remained unexplained.
“Nobody is explaining what really happened to our son. How come there is a blood clot in his eyes? Is the blood clot on his eyes part of the cancer also?”
Prompt News reports Clinton further claimed that reports suggested the actor arrived at the hospital deceased, adding that relatives were left shocked by how events unfolded.

He denied that his comments were connected to inheritance or financial interests.
“Please note that I am not writing this to chase anything, but just for clarity’s sake. Please remove properties from this. The Ekubo Okwareke family demand an explanation for her son since she could not explain to us indoors.”
The family of the late actor has not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of this report.
