Emmanuel Fernandez has celebrated his first Super Eagles goal in his first start, Prompt News reports.
The Glasgow Rangers central defender made his first start for the Super Eagles against Jordan on Tuesday.
Fernandez hit target four minutes from the interval to give Nigeria a 2-1 lead.
The 24-year-old expertly controlled Bright Osayi-Samuel’s cross in the 41st minute and drilled a left-footed finish into the back of the net.
He described it as an “enjoyable experience”.
“Honoured and grateful to play for Nigeria,” he posted on X
“First Start, First Goal.
“Enjoyable experience.”
