Habeeb ‘Peller’ Hamzat, popular Nigerian content creator, has opened up about the support he received from filmmaker Funke Akindele during his arrest in December 2025.
The TikToker was detained after a controversial incident in which he intentionally crashed his car during a live stream, an act the Lagos State Police described as “extremely dangerous” due to the potential risk to both Peller and the public.
Following further investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), he was released.
At the premiere of the movie Love Notes, Peller was seen greeting Akindele in a now-viral video, sharing a cordial exchange with the filmmaker.
Reflecting on her assistance, Peller expressed deep appreciation for Akindele’s help during his ordeal.
