Tennis superstar Serena Williams has dubbed herself “Superwoman” after chasing and catching a thief who tried to steal her mobile phone.
The world No. 1 ran after and confronted a man who picked up her phone while she dinned in a restaurant.
In a facebook post- accompanied by a photo of herself as a superhero- the reigning Wimbledon champion said she was given a standing ovation when returning to her table in triumph.
Thousands of fans acclaimed her online revelation, which she said was’ a win for the ladies’.
Williams wrote how she ‘jumped up, weaved in and out of the restaurant (leaping over a chair or two) and chased him down’. The suspect apparently said:’ It was so confusing in there, I must have grabbed the wrong phone’.
In her post, Williams told fans: ‘Superhero? Maybe?. Or Hell Yea! I’ve got the speed, the jumps, the power, the body, the sex appeal….. always listen to your superhero inner voice’.
