Sunderland scored a stoppage time equaliser through Brian Brobbey to help the hosts earn a 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Stadium of Light.
Dan Ballard gave the newly-promoted team a surprise lead nine minutes before the break.
Arsenal took control of the game in the second half and got their equaliser through Bukayo Saka in the 54th minute.
The Gunners took the lead for the first time in the game 16 minutes from time through Leandro Trossard.
Trossard fired home from outside the box after diking past a defender.
Brobbey volleyed home the equaliser in stoppage time.
