Home-based Super Eagles captain Junior Nduka says the current successes experienced by the Super Falcons, and D’Tigress will motivate the team to do well at the 2024 African Nations Championship, Prompt News reports.
Eric Chelle’s side will take on defending champions Senegal in their opening fixture at the CHAN 2024 finals on Tuesday (today).
Tonight’s encounter is scheduled for the 15,000 capacity Amman Stadium, Zanzibar. Kick-off is 6pm Nigeria time.
The Super Falcons recently won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title, while D’Tigress claimed the title at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket.
Nduka declared that they will strive to emulate the two teams by winning the CHAN 2024 trophy.
“To our fellow Nigerians, I know the expectations are high because we have been doing well in sports and we will try our best not to let them down,” Nduka dsus during the pre-match media briefing in Zanzibar on Monday.
“Our female team has just won the WAFCON and our women’s team just won the basketball title. It’s a good record for the country and we hope to consolidate on that.”
