Gospel singer Timilehin Ajayi, accused of murdering his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu, is set to be formally arraigned on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Nasarawa State High Court in Lafia.
The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the scheduled arraignment in a statement on Sunday, noting that the singer will appear before Justice Simon Aboki at 9:00 AM.
Ajayi was charged with culpable homicide punishable by death on January 17, 2025, after being remanded at the Lafia Correctional Centre. The charges stem from his alleged involvement in the brutal killing of Adaidu, a 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps member stationed in Abuja.
According to police reports, Ajayi was apprehended on January 12, 2025, in New Karshi, Karu Local Government, with the severed head of the victim.
The investigation revealed that he had dismembered her body at his home.
