Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen remains uncertain about his future with the team, Prompt News reports.
Eguavoen was drafted in to take charge of the Super Eagles in September following the failure of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to appoint a foreign technical adviser in time for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The former defender has delivered on the mandate guiding the three-time African champions to qualification for Morocco 2025 with a game to spare.
There are reports the NFF are still working on plans to hire a foreign coach to tinker the Super Eagles.
Eguavoen admitted he is not sure he will still be in charge of the Super Eagles when the team resume their chase for the 2026 World Cup ticket in March, 2025.
“World Cup will come, but I don’t know if I will be in charge or not; if I’m in charge, we’ve spoken about it, we know that we have to win every game and we will approach each game as a final,” he told reporters in Uyo.
“So, let that time come first.”
