Flamingos captain Taiwo Afolabi has promised that the team will strive to win more games at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The West Africans started their campaign with a comfortable 4-1 victory over New Zealand on Wednesday night.
Afolabi scored Nigeria’s fourth goal of the encounter.
Ahead of the Flamingos second game against Ecuador on Saturday, the playmaker has revealed the team’s ambition in the competition.
“I want Nigerians to expect good results, great wins and they should keep supporting us,” she vowed.
“It was a good game from the girls because that is their first World Cup, apart from me, it was a good game.”
The midfielder also reflected on her Player of the Match prize against the Young Football Ferns.
“I feel grateful, I feel good for the goal and MOTM award, all thanks to Adegoke Taiwo for the assist,” she added.
