Katsina United Football Club says it is optimistic of returning to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in the 2023/2024 season.
Nasir Gide, Spokesperson of the club said having
officially qualified for the Nigerian National League (NNL) Playoffs, the club will not lose sight of getting back to the NPFL.
Gide told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Katsina that the Chanji Boys had not lost any of its matches in the NNL.
“We are the first team to qualify for the Super 8 in the NNL with two matches to spare.
“The club is on its way back to the NPFL after spending one season in the second division,” he added.
The club’s spokesperson said Katsina United currently leads NNL Group ‘A2’ with 20 points from eight matches.
NAN reports that the team are unbeaten in their last eight matches, winning five home games, one away win and two draws.
“We are playing our two remaining matches away from home against City FC of Abuja and Green Beret FC of Zaria, in the next coming days,” Gide said. (NAN)
