Bayelsa State Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has warned politicians aspiring for various positions in 2015 general elections under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State and their supporters to guard their utterances and actions that could mislead the public and opposition.
He also stated that the PDP in the state has remained “one peaceful, united and focused family” under the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan and himself saying they are both “working together for the good of the state and the nation.”
The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson issued on Saturday in Abuja said “there is no crack in Bayelsa PDP.”
He said, “The PDP in Bayelsa State is working collectively and rallying the needed support for President Goodluck Jonathan and the party to achieve maximum success in next year’s elections.
“Party faithfuls, especially those seeking elective positions and their supporters should be mindful of their utterances and actions, as same could be used by the opposition to paint a wrong or misleading position of the state of affairs in the State.”
Dickson reaffirmed the unflinching support of Bayelsa State for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid.
He called on the political class and the entire people of Bayelsa State to rally round him at all times, as is expected of all other well-meaning persons in the state who are overwhelmingly in support of the President’s aspiration.
Dickson also restated his resolve to “carry on with the policies and programmes of his restoration agenda, despite the dwindling resources of the State, occasioned by revenue shortfalls from the Federation Accounts.”
The Governor renewed his call on Bayelsans to remain supportive of the Government, as it means well for them.
