Falconets forward Janet Akekoromowei says Nigeria are determined to go all the way and lift the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup trophy, Prompt News Online reports.
The Falconets advanced to the quarter-finals on Thursday after cruising to a convincing 3-0 victory over England in their Round of 16 encounter.
Moses Aduku’s team will face Colombia in the quarter-final in Lodz on Sunday, with a place in the semi-finals at stake.
Colombia earned their spot in the last eight after recording a slim 1-0 win over tournament hosts Poland.
Akekoromowei, who found the back of the net to put Nigeria 2-0 ahead against England, says the players are ready to give everything in pursuit of their ultimate goal.
“The reason why we are here is to take the Cup home,” the Benfica striker told FIFA.
“We are going to give our all. Our coach pushes us and we push ourselves on and off the pitch. We stay focused and determined.”
The Falconets are seeking their maiden U-20 Women’s World Cup triumph after finishing runners-up on two previous occasions.
