Less than 90 days to the Nigeria’s presidential election, one-time National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Martin Agbaso (Ochoudo), has posited that the Labour Party will record 95% victory in Imo state in the 2023 presidential election.
Also, Agbaso who is the Imo State Cordinator, Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation, has said the party will also win half of the seats in the 27-member Imo State House of Assembly in the general election.
Speaking to newsmen at his country home in Emekuku, Owerri he revealed that he pitched his tent with the Labour Party flag-bearer because he is the most qualified candidate to salvage Nigeria from the part of total collapse economically and politically.
According to him, “every patriotic Nigerian should be concerned about the worsening economic hardship in the country. The nation is at the crossroad, it is like a company that is going into bankruptcy so there is need to hire the best Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to revive it”.
“After a careful assessments of the presidential candidates, I settled for Labour Party’s Peter Obi, he is that expert to save our country because he has the capacity to deliver”.
Agbaso who was a former Special Assistant to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Ecology from 2000 to 2003, insists that contrary to the erroneous belief that Labour Party has no structure, the popularity of Peter Obi has attracted huge followership to the party and the number has continued to increase by the day.
He boasted that Peter Obi Movement has become widespread and has energised the Labour Party and its candidates across the country including in Imo state, pointing out that the party is on ground in the state ready to shock nay sayers next year.
Said he: “I can tell you that we (Labour Part) have men and women who will be effectively deployed to police each and every 4, 853 Polling Units (PU) we have in Imo state. Labour Party will at least clear 12 Imo State House of Assembly seats and many National Assembly seats too”.
The African Prize for Leadership Award recipient who was conferred with the Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) in 2011, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the steps it has taken so far to ensure that 2023 elections are free, fair, credible and all inclusive especially with the use of technology.
Agbaso however urged Nigerians especially Imolites to troop out enmass on February 25 presidential and NASS elections and in March to vote massively for the Labour Party candidates across board.
“I can tell you today that any Nigerian going through hardship will likely vote for Peter Obi across the country. I can also tell you that any Nigerian I know, no matter how rich he or she was yesterday is poorer today. This is fact all of us know.
“Nigerians know those who have been in government for years and their lives are not better. They can’t come back to them to say oh we know to make your lives better yesterday, we failed to do it but give us another chance to do it better. It does not work that way.
Nigerians are not stupid, they are very smart people so nobody can deceive them anymore”, Agbaso concluded.
