This year, the commemoration takes on a special significance as FAME Foundation organizes a remarkable Para Soccer Inclusion Tournament in Kano.
Speaking to the press, Ms. Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello, Executive Director, FAME Foundation sheds more light on the event,
“This event not only celebrates the spirit of young individuals but also serves as a powerful testament to our commitment to creating opportunities and breaking down barriers. Play it Dream it Para Soccer Inclusion Tournament sponsored by French Embassy is a celebration of diversity in every sense. It showcases the diversity of talents, abilities, and backgrounds”.
She emphasized the significance of sports, especially Para Soccer, stating,
“Sport is a unifying tool. Para soccer, a sport for athletes living with disabilities, is a shining example of how sports can empower individuals and redefine perceptions. The Para soccer inclusion tournament is undoubtedly a thrilling display of athleticism, it goes beyond the game itself. It serves as a powerful tool for youth living with a disability. As an organization, our decision to center the Youth Day celebration on a Para Soccer Inclusion Tournament speaks volumes about our dedication to empowering all youth, regardless of their abilities”.
