The National Women’s League has scheduled a one week play-off to usher in newly promoted clubs to the women Premier league. Disclosing this to Prompt News Online, Secretary of the league, Isaac Ajisafe said that the play-off will also serve as a welcome to newly promoted teams.
He said that the competition billed for Akure, Ondo State capital from September 24-28 is expected to be keenly contested with the winner emerging as the Division one champion.
Meanwhile, Ajisafe also disclosed that the 2013 Super six final will hold in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state from October 5-12. The Super Six will involve a total of six teams, three teams from the female group A and three teams from group B.
The winner of the super six final will go home with the sum of one million naira, the second placed team will receive seven hundred and fifty thousand, and the third placed team will get five hundred thousand naira while the fourth placed team will take home three hundred thousand naira.
The women’s league is expected to resume tentatively in January, subject to ratification by the Nigeria Football Federation.
