Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt defeated Pelicans FC of Calabar 2- 0 to qualify for the 2013 Federation Cup final in Lagos.
In a classic encounter between the two clubs played at Area 3 football pitch in Abuja, the defending Champion scored both goals in the second half of the game.
Skipper Evelyn Nwabuoku opened scoring in the 48 minutes while a controversial penalty awarded by the referee in charge Bose Momoh, saw Stella Mbachu scoring the second goal at the 79 minute to give the Rivers State team the victory.
Meanwhile, Chief Coach of the Rivers, Edwin Okon, has dedicated the victory and qualification for the FA Cup final to the good people of Rivers State who have supported the team all the way. He also assured that his team; the defending champions will win the cup.
Also reacting, the head coach of Pelicans Adat Egan, noted that the team lost as a result of the poor officiating. In the other female semi final match Nasarawa Amazon defeated Bayelsa Queens 1- 0 to zoom into the finals where they will now play Rivers Angels.
