A woman, Fausat Sabith, was on Friday docked in an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating and injuring neighbour in the eye with a stick.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov 27, around 4p.m. at Moremi Area, Ile-Ife.
Abdullahi said that the defendant conducted herself in a manner likely to cause breach in Moremi area, when she entered Folashade Adetigbo’s house and beat her up.
He said that the defendant injured Adetigbo in the right eye.
The offence, Abdullahi said, contravened the provisions of sections:249(d) and 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Okoh Wonder, pleaded for the bail of the defendant in the most liberal terms.
Magistrate O.T. Badmus admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
Badmus ordered that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means.
The magistrate adjourned the case until Dec 14, for hearing. (NAN)
