OSOGBO – Police on Monday arraigned a 42-year-old woman, Funmilayo James, in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged burglary.
James, whose address is not known, is facing a three – count charge bothering on burglary, theft and felony.
The prosecutor, Insp. Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Nov. 5, at Niyi Ibikunle Shopping Complex, Dada Estate, Osogbo.
Abiodun alleged that the defendant broke into shops belonging to Ayuba Salamatu and Kikelomo Badmus.
He said that the defendant carted away some cosmetic items, food stuffs and clothes, among item, all valued at N420,000.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 516 and 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34 Vol. 11 Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the three -count charge.
Counsel to the accused, Mr Lekan Olaiwola, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Fatimo Sodamade, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in the like sum and adjourned the case until Dec. 17, for mention. (NAN)
