Foremost economist, Professor Uche Uwaleke who is also the Special Adviser to the Chairman Senate of on Capital Market, has been appointed the Special Adviser to the Chairman Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other financial Institutions.
Uwaleke is Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, former Head of Banking and Finance at the Nasarawa State University, former Chairman of CIBN Abuja Branch and former Member of the Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
The letter of appointment dated 25th January, 2024 was signed by Ogurinde Tinuike, Clerk/Deputy Director of the Committee, said the appointment “is in recognition of your deep knowledge of the country’s financial system which I have come to acknowledge”. READ ALSO

It further said, “I have no doubt that your expertise in the field of banking and finance will be of great assistance to me and other members of my committee in the effective discharge of our oversight functions”.
