Victor Boniface has been named in Bayer Leverkusen’s UEFA Champions League squad against Athletico Madrid.
Boniface is back to full fitness again after missing the Bundesliga champions last 12 games across all competitions due to injury.
The 24-year-old sustained a thigh injury, while on international duty last November.
The 24-year-old is expected to be named among the substitutes against Atletico Madrid.
“We trained again this morning and then we decided that Victor Boniface can go on the UCL trip to Madrid with the team,” Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso told a press conference.
” He is getting better and better and he will be in the squad tomorrow (today). This is very positive news for all of us and of course for him. Boni is feeling good and it’s great that he is back with us.”
The striker has registered eight goals and one assist in 15 appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself this season.
