Security forces under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have rescued seven kidnapped victims in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
In a statement released in Jos on Tuesday, OPSH Media Officer Major Samson Zhakom confirmed that the operation was carried out on March 7.
He explained that based on intelligence reports, troops launched an assault in the Attakar highlands of Ganawuri district, where the kidnappers were holding victims abducted along the Jos-Ganawuri road.
During the raid, troops engaged the criminals, who fled into the highlands due to the military’s superior firepower.
Soldiers also recovered a bag containing a blanket and clothing left behind by the fleeing suspects.
Zhakom assured that the rescued victims have been safely reunited with their families, and efforts are ongoing to track down the kidnappers.
He urged the public to support security agencies by providing relevant information that could help combat criminal activities in the state.
