In continuation of the ongoing clearance operations of suspected Boko Haram terrorists hideouts, more people being held hostage have been freed by Nigerian troops.
According to Army spokesperson, Col Sani Usman, troops of 155 Task Force Battalion conducted a patrol to Nimila village on Sunday during which they rescued 14 persons from the clutches of Boko Haram terrorists and recovered weapons.
He said the rescued persons were mostly women and children.
Usman added that the troops also recovered 3 Dane Guns; a single barrel and 2 double barrels.
“They further recovered 3 motor cycles abandoned by the terrorists, in addition to 2 mobile telephone handsets.”
