President Bola Tinubu has condemned the killing of hunters allegedly intercepted by local vigilantes in Uromi, Esan North Local Government Area of Edo State.

Expressing shock over the incident on Thursday, Tinubu directed the police and other security agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

In a statement, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said the President extended his condolences to the victims’ families and assured them that those responsible would be held accountable.

“The President emphasized that jungle justice has no place in Nigeria and reaffirmed the right of all citizens to move freely across the country,” the statement read.

Tinubu also praised Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and Uromi community leaders for their prompt efforts in preventing further escalation of tensions.
