Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, have arrested three suspected cult members and recovered a firearm during an operation in Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Samuel, Dapo and Favour, were arrested around 4pm on Sunday at Emmanuel Villa, Abapawa, Ijagun, following intelligence on alleged cult activities in the area.
The state commander of the corps, Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
Ganzallo said the operation was carried out after the corps received credible information about the activities of suspected cultists operating in the community.
He said operatives moved to the identified location and apprehended the three suspects, while a firearm was recovered from them during the operation.
The weapon was secured as an exhibit before the suspects were taken into custody.
According to the commander, the suspects were subsequently handed over to the police at Igbeba for further investigation, interrogation and other necessary legal action.
He added that the recovered firearm was also transferred to the police to support the investigation.
Ganzallo commended the operatives for their prompt response and intelligence-led operation, stressing that the corps remained committed to tackling cultism and other violent crimes across the state.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with credible information about suspicious movements, cult-related activities and illegal possession of firearms in their communities.
