Nigeria’s Super Falcons sealed a place at 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after beating Cape Verde 2-1 at the Estadio Nacional de Capo Verde on Tuesday night.
The Falcons won the final qualifying round second leg contest 7-1 on aggregate.
The hosts took the lead on eight minutes through Ivania Moreira.
Cape Verde came close to doubling their lead afterwards but couldn’t find a way past the Nigeria defence again.
Nigeria head coach, Justin Madugu made two substitutions on resumption of second half.
Esther Onyenezide and Esther Okoronwko took the place of Peace Efih and Uchenna Kanu.
Okoronwko draw the Super Falcons level on 62 minutes.
Stand-in Rasheedat Ajibade scored the winning goal for Nigeria in stoppage time. READ ALSO:
