Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has admitted he has to put in his best to ensure the team qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Finidi has been handed the target of qualifying the Super Eagles for the 2026 World Cup and going as far as the quarter-final of the tournament
“The targets will keep me on my toes,” he said on Eagle FM.
“It is an honour to be coach of the Super Eagles and I will give everything not to disappoint millions of Nigerians.”
Finidi also revealed how he was first informed about his appointment.

“But I kept it to myself until it was announced officially.”
After being caretaker coach in March in friendlies against Ghana and Mali, Finidi will lead the Super Eagles in crunch 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa (June 7, Uyo) and Benin (June 10, Abidjan).
