Alex Iwobi will be presented with a commemorative plaque to mark his 100th appearance for the Super Eagles ahead of tonight’s international friendly against Portugal, Prompt News Online reports.
The Fulham midfielder will become only the fourth Nigerian player to reach the century mark for the national team, joining an elite group that includes former captain Joseph Yobo, ex-goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, and former skipper Ahmed Musa.
Iwobi has enjoyed a distinguished international career since making his debut against the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2015.
In his previous 99 appearances for the three-time African champions, the 30-year-old has scored 10 goals and provided eight assists.
The milestone is another testament to Iwobi’s consistency and importance to the Super Eagles over the last decade.
He is currently regarded as one of the best players in the team..
