Hamburg are closing in on the signing of Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi after reaching an agreement with French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.
French outlet Nice-Matin reports that Nice have given the green light to Hamburg’s proposal for the 27-year-old. The financial details of the proposed transfer have not been made public.
The Bundesliga outfit have shown strong interest in Moffi in recent weeks and are keen to add the Nigerian to their attacking ranks.
With an agreement now in place between the two clubs, Hamburg must finalise personal terms with the striker before the transfer can be completed.
Moffi was away from Nice during the second half of last season after joining Portuguese giants FC Porto on loan. He managed one goal in nine league outings during his spell in Portugal.
Porto had the option of pursuing a permanent deal but decided not to do so after Nice maintained their reported €8m valuation of the forward.
The Nigeria international has been on the books of Nice since January 2023, when he arrived on an initial loan deal from Lorient. His transfer was subsequently made permanent in the summer.
Moffi experienced a turbulent period at the club last season. He was among the Nice players confronted and attacked by supporters following a 3–1 defeat away to former club Lorient in November 2025.
He was later granted a week of sick leave before eventually leaving Nice temporarily to join Porto.
Moffi has scored 24 goals in 72 appearances in all competitions for the French club.
