Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has been mandated to ensure his team reach at least the semi-final at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Prompt News reports.
The technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, according to SCORENigeria met with Chelle in Abuja on Monday.
The committee believed the target is achievable for the Malian and his players.
It would be recalled that the NFF also set same target for the Super Eagles at the previous edition of the competition in Cote d’Ivoire where they finished second.
Chelle has also been mandated to rebuild the Super Eagles following the team’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The former Eagles of Mali coach has reportedly finalised his 28-man list which will be released this week.
The Super Eagles are drawn in Group C in along with Tunisia, Tanzania and Uganda.
They will open their campaign against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Fez on Tuesday, 23 December.
