Brentford star Frank Onyeka claimed the Super Eagles must be mentally and physically ready for the team to do well at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles are among the 24 teams that will compete for honours at the 2023 AFCON finals to be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire.
There are however doubts on whether the team can challenge for a fourth title at the tournament going by their recent struggles.
Onyeka however stated that the Super Eagles know what it takes to win the AFCON.
“I know our fans are frustrated because of our performance but we still need their support ahead of the AFCON,” the midfielder was quoted by The PUNCH.
“The draws we had in the last two games is something we need to learn from.
“African teams are not easy to play against and it’s something that we need to prepare ourselves mentally and physically for ahead of the AFCON. We know what it takes to win the AFCON.” READ ALSO:

Jose Peseiro’s side are drawn in Group A with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
The Eagles will take on Equatorial Guinea in their opening fixture at the Alhassane Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on January 14.
The 2023 AFCON finals will run from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
