The Super Eagles have continued their downward slide in the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) ranking.
In the latest monthly ranking released by FIFA on Thursday, the West Africans dropped eight places.
The former African champions dropped from 30th to 38th position.
The Super Eagles also dropped two places in the previous FIFA ranking.
The latest slide on the ranking is connected to the team’s poor result in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
They battled to a 1-1 against Bafana Bafana and lost 2-1 to the Cheetahs.
The West Africans however maintained their position among the top five teams in Africa. READ ALSO:

Morocco are the highest ranked country on the continent, with Senegal in second position. Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire occupy third and fourth position respectively.
