Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn alongside Madagascar, Tanzania, and Guinea-Bissau in the qualification series for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, Prompt News Online reports.
The draw took place on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association in Cairo.
Coached by Éric Chelle, the Super Eagles entered the draw as one of the seeded nations, joining several of Africa’s football heavyweights.
Nigeria are considered favourites to finish top of the group, with only the top two teams guaranteed a place at the 2027 AFCON tournament.
The qualifiers will be played during three FIFA international windows between September 2026 and March 2027.
Matchdays one and two are billed for September 21 to October 6, 2026, while the third and fourth rounds of fixtures will hold from November 9 to 17, 2026.
The final set of qualification matches is scheduled for March 22 to 30, 2027.
The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027.
