By: Gracious Akujobi The Boss of Nigerian Premier League side, Sunshine Stars FC of Akure, Mike Idoko is ruing the departure of their Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona to Turkey even as he assured that they have his replacement.
Speaking with Prompt News Online in Abuja, Idoko said they anticipated that at a point they would lose him so they made adequate arrangements for him and any other player that gets foreign deals.
He expressed happiness for Oboabona for securing a lucrative contract with the Turkish club adding he was sure the Edo born defender would settle down as soon as his registration is completed
“We are discussing with the manager and the ITC will soon be made available to the Turkish club. We expect him to start playing because the deal has been sealed; we are just waiting for the payment”
“He has a good contract and I am not in a position to divulge but as of his transfer fee, we would let you know as soon as we sort things out” he said
On Dele Olorundare, Idoko disclosed that the striker was undergoing medicals with an undisclosed club in Turkey stressing that they would go public as soon as he passes his medical and agree terms with the club.
Asked if he has quality replacement for the two players, Idoko pointed out that Sunshine Stars have had to play most of the seaon without Oboabona and Olorundare because they were always in the camp of the national team
“We knew Oboabona will be leaving so we recruited about two or three players as good replacements for them”.
