The Special Adviser on local government, chieftaincy affairs and community development to governor Abdullahi Sule, Mr. John Mamman has been abducted by gunmen from his home.
The Nasarawa state police command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Ramhan Nansel, confirmed this to Newsmen on Sunday in Lafia.
Nansel said that John Mamman was abducted in his home in Dari village of Kokona local government Area (LGA) of the state on Saturday night.
“We got a report that the special adviser to the governor on local government and chieftaincy affairs was kidnapped”
He said that according to the information available to them, about 10 unknown gunmen stormed the special assistant’s house around 8:00p.m on Saturday and abducted the Special adviser to an unknown destination.
Nansel disclosed that Nasarawa state Police Commissioner, Bola Longe had directed the Divisional Police Officer in that area and the area commander to mobilise and comb the bush to ensure the victim is rescued unhurt.
He, called on members of the public to reach the police with relevant information that would lead to the rescue of the victim and apprehension of the kidnappers.
