Slavia Prague head coach Jindrich Tripisovsky has heaped plaudits on Peter Olayinka for his consistency since his arrival at the club.
Olayinka arrived the Czech champions as a little known player four years ago but has grown into one of the biggest stars in the team.
The Nigeria international made history becoming Slavia Prague’s top scorer in European competitions after scoring in the club’s 3-2 win against FC Ballkani on Thursday.
“Most of all, I want to congratulate him, it’s a respectable achievement,” .Tripisovsky told the club’s official website.
“Maybe he is the last Mohican, along with Standa Tecla and Bóra, from the first season we were here.
“The players revolve around him, his arrival was not easy at all. He cost a lot of money, he was a player from Belgium to the Czech league, and he didn’t have such a big name.
“I am very happy that he has maintained his performance and his hunger, his numbers are respectable in the four years he has been here. It shows he’s exceptional, I’m glad that he maintains a consistent performance, without any big fluctuations.
“I congratulate him, we are very happy for that, he was one of the first players we brought into the squad.”
