Italy have beaten the U.S. in the first-ever Olympic shooting skeet mixed team final.
Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti shot an equal Qualification World Record, before securing the title by a score of 45-44 against Austen Jewell Smith and Vincent Hancock.
It’s a third Olympic medal in a row for Bacosi (who won individual skeet gold at Rio 2016, and silver Tokyo 2020), while Rossetti is the only man to have won an Olympic gold in Hancock’s era.
Bronze went to People’s Republic of China duo Jiang Yiting and Lyu Jianlin, who overcame India’s Maheshwari Chauhan and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka 44-43. (Olympics)
